All,
Saturday brought me to the newly renovated Angeloni's Cedar Gardens banquet facility on rt 33 in Hamilton NJ. It's not often I get to work with my DJ brethren, but it's always nice to work with my buds. DJ Jagged and myself arrived approximately an 1:15 hrs ahead of our start time for the load in and set up for Brad and Megan's wedding celebration. This couple was very cool, easy to work with and just overall nice people looking for a great reception. Upon load in we were impressed by the swanky decor and seemingly new attitude the banquet hall now boasts. The ceiling was nicely up lit to the wedding colors and fine fixtures and amenities abound in the renovated space. We were set up in the middle of the marble floor dance space, the room was long and rectangular which was a bit odd but still very elegant. We got the rig up and going in about 30 minutes the odds and ends took a few more minutes, but presentation is half the battle. We also had to set up the 90in screen and projector for zap photos to be taken throughout the evening. Once settled in and up and running, we went over the intros and game plan. I was donning my MC hat and took the lead in getting the bridal party together and prepping them for the agenda and flow of events. Once the cocktail portion had passed The banquet coordinator gathered the bridal party for the intros as I welcomed the guests. The intros went flawlessly with Jagged manning the decks. We moved from the grand entrance to first dance, parent dances, prayer (I gave the prayer), toasts and dinner. Once the bulk of the formalities were done we settled into mellow dinner music and prepared for the dance floor action we had planned for this reception. Once dinner was over we got the dance floor going taking turns at the decks and hyping the crowd when necessary. It was a bit tough maintaining the dance floor for any extended length of time but we did a nice job of covering all the bases and playing to the crowd. We did the usual wedding formals including cake, bouquet, garter etc.. We were able to field numerous request and covered the couples play list with ease. Upon conclusion of the event we handed out numerous business cards and were thanked by many family members, guests, and the bride and groom. It's always a bonus to be genuinely appreciated for the work we do, it truly makes this job worthwhile. Congrats to the new Mr and Mrs. Brad Steever and thank you for allowing us to take part in your special day!
